Tourneys in Arts of War and Defence

Hear ye, Hear Ye, Hear ye All From Klakavirki to Adamastor, from Eplaheimr to Gorynovo, and from all the Laurel kingdoms,

That Her Royal Highness, most Noble Isabetta del Verde, Princess of Drachenwald makes known Her Wish and Desire to Witness and Observe Prowess of Fighters from Her kingdom before naming Her Champion when reigning as Queen.

And therefore Her Majesty invites all dukes, counts, barons, knights, masters-of arms and defence and humblest men-at-arms who practise Arts of War or Defence, who are not enemies of the king to come to Ahtela in Aarnimetsä this coming Distaff day that is 7th of January Our Year of Society LI (51).

They shall present themselves to Heralds at time ordained on the Day to be honorably presented to Her Majesty, Armed to all points as is customary in War – or if they wish to display their skill in the Arts of Defence carrying arms of that Art as is customary.

And those displaying their puissance and hardiness in Art of War shall fight among themselves as instructed by Marshals, Until Her Majesty has seen enough. And those wishing to display their skill and nimbleness in Art of Defence shall fight then, again as instructed by the Marshals until Her Majesty has seen enough.

And let no blow be struck in anger, but in eager competition.

And when it has been said that fighting is to cease, let no-one continue fighting in the list, but take it to side if they wish to continue for sheer pleasure of it.

Vivat Regina! Vivat Drachenwald!

What it means in practise

There will be a heavy tourney and fencing tourney at coronation, open to all comers.

Bring what weapons You can – there are no weapons restrictions. For fencing both heavy blades and C&T are acceptable.

Depending on number of fighters these will be round robins or if we have huge attendance, Swiss tourneys.

Normal tourney rules. Doublekills will be double losses.

This is Finland, January and outside. Consider warm middle layer and footware that can handle snow or in worse case - slush.
